My channel is small, YouTube revenue is small. Returning subscribers are small. Is taking a break good for the channel no. But you have to balance what you are doing in your life, against the small chance that YouTube may blow up for you.
I had to work all through the big cough. I never got that down time that quite a few others got.
If your life is busy, and YouTube gives the tiniest returns vs your time, my advice is to stop worrying about YouTube and channel your energy into projects or pastimes that you get maximum returns.
